Course Reference Number: TGS-2022013745
Course Overview
TCM Pediatric Care and Applications for Health and Wellness Practitioners is one of the modules under the TCMandYou series, The Essential TCM Skills for Health and Wellness Practitioners. It is designed to equip health and wellness practitioners with foundational knowledge in TCM paediatric care and applications.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has long recognised that infants, children, and teenagers are not simply smaller versions of adults. Their physiology, development, health presentations, emotional needs, and recovery patterns require careful observation and age-appropriate approaches.
This course introduces participants to paediatric wellness from the TCM perspective, including child development, common childhood health patterns, prevention principles, TCM paediatric massage, selected herbal awareness, and parent-child bonding through appropriate touch-based wellness practices.
Why This Course Matters
Children’s wellness requires both knowledge and caution. Parents and practitioners often want practical tools to support children’s growth, immunity, digestion, sleep, emotions, and daily well-being, but paediatric care must be approached responsibly.
TCM paediatric massage is valued because it is generally gentle, non-invasive, and suitable for educational wellness settings when taught and applied appropriately. It also creates opportunities to strengthen parent-child connection through mindful touch and care.
For health and wellness practitioners, this course provides a structured introduction to TCM paediatric thinking while reinforcing safe practice, professional boundaries, and the need to refer children to qualified healthcare professionals when appropriate.
