Course Overview

Basic Acupressure Massage for Health and Wellness Practitioners is one of the practical modules under the TCMandYou series, The Essential TCM Skills for Health and Wellness Practitioners. It is designed to equip learners with basic knowledge and applied skills in acupressure massage from the Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective.

Massage and therapeutic touch are not only for comfort or relaxation. When understood through TCM meridian theory and applied appropriately at or along relevant acupoints, acupressure massage may support relaxation, mobility, circulation, stress management, and general wellness.

Through theory, demonstration, practical exercises, case discussion, and guided application, participants will learn how meridian pathways, acupoints, manipulation techniques, and selected tools may be used responsibly in health and wellness practice.

Why This Practical Skills Course Matters

Many wellness practitioners already use touch, movement, bodywork, breathing, or relaxation methods in their work. However, without a structured understanding of meridians, acupoints, and basic TCM application principles, these techniques may remain general rather than targeted.

This course helps learners understand how acupressure massage can be framed within TCM health betterment thinking. It introduces practical skills while reinforcing responsible boundaries, appropriate application, and the importance of knowing when to refer clients to qualified healthcare professionals.

For learners progressing through the TCMandYou pathway, this course serves as a natural bridge from TCM theory into hands-on wellness application.

Course Objectives

This course is designed for health and wellness practitioners who are actively promoting healthy lifestyle and wellness activities, including allied healthcare practitioners, spa trainers, yoga instructors, Qigong trainers, Tuina practitioners, and other complementary health professionals.
