Genus Meltonia contains a size range of a large wolf to of a bear, mostly Pantherine like size. Meltonia contains a wide range of social configuration as well. Depending on the niche and resource availability. 

Most meltonia are sexually monomorphic in colouration, although monogamous is rare in this species (might change the sexual dimorphism)

Behaviour

Mating and Courtship

Males are territorial and often fight over territory.As most species is monomorphic in colouration. Intra-sexual selection occurs when males fight over territory and resources. Males might hunt and share their kill with the female? (pending). 

The only exception is the subgenus. (Neck spotted Meltonia being one of them). That has a spotted neck in the male, often to act as an attention seeking traits.

Social group

Other than species within the Social Meltonia subgenus, most Meltonia are solitary species that only come together during the mating season

Meltonia in general have simple communication. Such as territorial grunts, and friendly vocalisation used in parent-child communication, mate-mate communication.

Domestication and Cultural Significance

Meltonia are rarely domesticated (likely not domesticated at all) due to their aggressive nature and many species are not social with the exception of the Social Meltonia. Different human settlements have contrasting views of Meltonias. Some people view them as powerful creature, that should be respected and having a ‘spirit of a meltonia’ is considered a praise. However some cultures are known to fear and have a deep hatred of the species viewing them as ‘evil’ or even ‘agents of the devil’
